Helicopter Fun With Cloud 9 Living!

Before I tell you about my experience, let me tell you about the company that made it possible.

When I reached their base at the Westchester Airport, I met with one of their flight instructors, Anthony Ianni, and we got right into the experience.

In confirming all of the gears were in place, we lifted off towards the city. As I'm sure many of us have ridden planes before, until you've been in a 4-seater helicopter, it's a whole different ball game. When I reached the highest point in flight, my only concerns were the small space and riding shotgun. My distance from the ground was the least of my worries.

Since it was a short trip, I wasn't expecting the full-fledge 'Welcome to Flight School' instruction manual however, I did learn a few interesting things. The gears were really sensitive, so he taught me how to handle the them and steer different directions. He even had me drive a few times on my own. According to him, I was one of the best students he's ever had :)... Anyways, we flew all over the city from Harlem to the Brooklyn Bridge to the World Trade Center and back -- all in a matter of 30min. However petrifying this trip may sound, I made the most out of it and it was the best experience I've had in a long time.
