7 FAQ ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY
If you told me I'd be into photography 5 years ago, I wouldn't have believed you. 😭
I’ve learned plenty over the years regarding content creation, the influencer industry, and where I stand in that environment. One common denominator amongst all of my experiences was photography. From getting the shot, to editing, to seeing how people respond to my photos — it was this constant process that pushed me to wanting to pursue the field.
Throughout my journey, I have received plenty of questions regarding my photos including inspiration, what applications I use etc.
So here, in a nutshell, are answers to the top 7 questions I’m frequently asked regarding my photography:
1. What camera do you use?
I use a Sony A7iii. I have three lenses, but I mainly use my 28 - 70mm kit lens and my Canon Sigma 50mm f/1.4.
2. Who shoots your photos?
Family/friends I've taught how to take a picture with my camera and some of my LEGIT photographer friends who have their own equipment.
Common scenario:
I see the vision, the place I want my look to be photographed.
I ask my friend, "Hey, can you take a picture of me right here." (Pointing to that location)
I set the settings on the camera. (I always shoot in Manual)
I show said friend how I want the photo to be taken, particularly which angle I prefer.
I show them what button to press to take the photo.
I go the location to do my poses.
They take the photo.
VOILA. Photos are sorted and edited by me, then posted on my website or Instagram. ✨
3. Do you edit your photos?
Most, if not all, of my photos are edited by me. Even though some of the photographer's I work with have their own edits/vision, I prefer to express my own on my business platforms. Take the photos in this post for example, it was taken by one of my close photographer friends, @jaythecreative. It was his idea to meet at The Vessel location and he brought his own equipment to shoot me. However, the photos you see in this post were edited by me. Stay tuned for his edits on his Instagram page!
4. What do you use to edit your photos?
I use professional software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to edit all of my photos. There was once at time I used the VSCO and Facetune app in that order, but that time is above me now. 😂
5. Do you offer photography services?
I do provide photography services! Click here to check out my portfolio so far. I also have another Instagram page (@itskenergy) showcasing some of my latest shoots. If you'd like to book me for a session or collaborate in some sort of way, feel free to email me at nkenge@itsnkenge.com so we can get something started!
6. TEACH US SIS! When will you show us your skills in action?
I have so many ideas planned to show you all how I achieve my edits! It's just been a bit hard in finding the time to film and organize everything. I can assure you though, content is coming soon and when it does, I WON'T DISAPPOINT!
7. Do you have a Lightroom preset? How can I get my photos to look like yours?
I have decided to release my Lightroom presets for sale when I reach 10K followers on my Instagram. If you can persuade me to release them earlier in the comments, you will get a free itsNkenge Lightroom Preset package for free. 😏
