Let me start by saying, this is my first black wool coat…. ever.
For my past wardrobe experiences, I’ve went through a number of colored coats, you name it — purple, blue, red and even green…but never black. Why? Well, there was the constant reminder of lint showing more on black than any other colored coat. Also at the time, I was still honing in on my true style and wanted to explore a bit before taking it down a notch. So imagine my surprise when I’m searching through Rosegal’s site and found this minimal black wool coat for less than $42. At that moment, I thought it was about that time to try out the popular staple.
Rosegal is a global online retailer based in China. They offer a number of pieces focused around vintage and modern styles. This coat definitely falls into that mesh of categories because of its longline length and single button closure. So far, I’ve worn this coat rather frequently over the past two weeks and it’s holding up pretty well. The only thing I’d critique is the quality and shipping time. Despite its warmth, it attracts lint like crazy (mainly from my scarves or anything fuzzy). In addition to lint, it takes about 20 days to ship to the US. Like I’ve mentioned before in my previous outfit posts regarding China based retailers — all things considering — your order will take a while. So if you’re needing something for say, sometime this week, that’s not happening.
Nonetheless, it’s always nice to discover fresh new brands that work for your pockets and I’ll continue to keep you updated on any others I find worth the review.
